Back from San Fran

Just finished an awesome weekend in San Francisco. I got back to LA early this morning and Dahunter talked me into driving down to San Diego for the night. I like it here.

San Fran was a lot of fun. We had a good group and I got to spend a lot of time with Starlight. I enjoy kicking it with that guy. We have hung out a bunch of times in group settings, but this is the first time we have had time to really sit down and get to know each other. We had some serious deep talks about my favorite book Atlus Shrugged. That book changed my life and I read it at a pretty dark time in my life. The message came at just the right time more me. It was cool to meet someone who had actually gotten all the way through that monster and had been deeply impacted by it as well.

Starlight has had a really interesting life. He should seriously write a book about his 20′s. He’s had more cool adventures and life experiences in his 20′s then most people have in a lifetime.
I like his approach to life. I learned a lot from him this weekend. I like meeting people that are on the next level in the specific aspect of your life that you are currently trying to learn. I’m currently trying to understand business and get my mind wrapped about being more professional in certain areas and what exactly that means. I learned a lot this weekend listening to Starlight discuss exactly what it took for him to kick off his business and the mindsets he’s had to develop. I got the same feeling when I was in New York with Savoy and I listened to him dealing with the producers from the Tyra Banks Show.
I always say that the best way to learn is to get a mentor in that specific area that you want to master. I love the quote that says, “Don’t take advice from anyone who isn’t living the life you want to live.” I wish I would have heard that quote years ago. I don’t know how many times I’ve let people that are living some shit life that is nowhere near what I want or dream of effect my decisions or thought process. Now, I try to never even give those people a platform in my life.
Austin Texas next week. One of the best cities on the planet to do bootcamp in. Austin has a great night life, the girls are hot, and they are really friendly. The guys should kill it.

“Don’t take advice from anyone who isn’t living the life you want to live.” i totally agree with this. i never let anyone influence my life who is don’t respect and think “my god they have a lot to teach me”. Ppl love giving advice but do u want to get a haircut from a bald barber? i don’t think so…
I’m currently finishing up the audio book, and am curious how this book affected you. Did it change your thoughts on business?
